![]() Win10 Widgets runs using an open source program called Rainmeter. Weather, WiFi, battery, music, and more all available at a glance. Win10 Widgets launches your desktop into the future taking it from a collection of files and folders to a place where you can find all the information you need, when you need it. Over half a million downloads and counting!Ĭomputers in the future are awesome (we're looking at you, Iron Man and Minority Report), so why are desktops today so bland? They just don't get it.As seen on Lifehacker, Windows Central, /r/Rainmeter, /r/Windows10 & Imgur This is also why they cant do phones and mobile apps and are a minor player there. Instead of foisting useless change on us for their sake. Gates and Ballmer always threw the word 'innovation' around cheaply, while they should have been worrying about CONSISTENCY and protecting user investment in KNOWLEDGE and TRAINING. Apple and Google seem to understand this and do not make the LARGE OBVIOUS mistakes that Microsoft makes. They do change for THEIR sake I guess and not for the customers sake. For all the effort and money and time they spend on 'user' input, they must speak an entirely different language. It is the price of being an overblown bureaucracy I think. And again, to what CONSTRUCTIVE end? It seems Microsoft will never get the plain, obvious, common sense truths all their customers see. My god, is Microsoft on a MISSION to **** customers off on PURPOSE? Do they not see the completely UNNECCESARY effort and costs to not just retrain yourself (for what GOOD reason) but businesses with hundreds and thousands and tens of thousands of people to retrain. Then - ' I know things are different, and it may get some getting used to. And MANY apps install many 'apps' that do not work alphabetically but are related to the main app. You miss the whole POINT of NOT knowing the app name. It will be listed, and you can launch it from there. Are you kidding me? - ' If you know the name of the App you want, just type it into Cortana. ![]()
